PROPERTIES
1,2 - Dichloropropane is a very flammable fluid with sweetish odour after chloroform. It is very stable when dry, in presence of humidity it decomposes relatively quickly and releases hydrogen chloride. Its vapours are easily inflammable and they form explosive mixtures with oxygen. When burning, hydrogen chloride and phosgene are released. 1,2 - Dichloropropane is harmful to human health if inhaled or ingested.

APPLICATION
1,2 - Dichloropropane is used in production of chlorinated hydrocarbons.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND HEALTH PROTECTION
1,2 - Dichloropropane is classified as inflammable liquid in hazardous class I and as substance harmful if inhaled, swallowed or in contact with skin. High concentration of vapours are narcotic, they irritate eyes and airways. Liver, kidney and heart disorders may also occur. If indisposition occurs search for medical aid! It is inevitable to avoid contact with eyes, skin and vapor inhalation. During work it is necessary to use protective mask or breathing apparatus, protective clothes and shoes, rubber gloves and tight fitting goggles or protective shield.
PACKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
1,2 - Dichloropropane is delivered in railroad or road tanks from carbon steel, stainless steel or galvanised iron. Each storage unit must be tagged according to Act No. 163/2001, RID and ADR regulations. The shipment has to be accompanied by quality certificate, which may be substituted by shipping document clause. During transport it is necessary to adhere to the requirements for transportation of dangerous goods. It is stored in containers in clean and dry storage area protected against weather conditions. Under given conditions six-month storage life is guaranteed.
