Slovinyl® E 551 is a low-molecular homopolymer of vinyl chloride, produced by emulsion polymerisation.
PROPERTIES
Slovinyl® E 551 is white solid material, odour less powder, it is resistant against acids, bases, mineral oils, aliphatic hydrocarbons, insoluble in the water and organic solvents, soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons. Emulsion PVC can hardly be self-igniting as it burns only upon direct contact with fire.

APPLICATION
Slovinyl® E 551 is suitable for production of low-plasticized highly-filled plastic materials by calandering or rigid cellular products processed mainly by extrusion. It is used for processing of rigid cellular materials.
Slovinyl® E 551 has the following advantages: low temperature of processing, good thermal stability, low consumption of lubricants.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND HEALTH PROTECTION
Slovinyl® E 551 is non-dangerous, it consists of the neutral polymer. It contains max. 3 ppm of remained vinylchloride.Particular technical provisions are not required. It is suggested to provide a good ventilation at the workplace. Prevention against electrostatic charge must be applied if the tube transport by means of compressed air is used. Health can be impaired only through a product processing with resulting dust forming. By means of ventilation and exhhausting of the working area the concentration of the dust should be avoided or reduced to the minimum. Keep skin and mucuous membrans out of contact. When working with the emulsion PVC, usual personal protective aids are to be used: dust respirator, protective goggles and protective clothes.
PACKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
Slovinyl® E 551 is delivered in rail-cars Uac, in car-tanks or in 25 kg multi-walled paper bags with a weight tolerance of ± 250 g. Bags are paletted and palettes wrapped in foil for better protection against shift. E PVC keep in dry, well ventilated storage place. Protection should be provided against weather effects and sun beams as well as moisture and vapours of different chemical substances. Storage with organic solvents of all sorts, or chemical substances against which the E PVC has no guarantied chemical resistance is not allowed.
